Employment reaches highest level in two years
Thursday, 01 July 2010
Zoetermeer, July 1st 2010 – The NEVI PMI® reached a level of 55.9 in June. This again proves a clear improvement of the circumstances in the sector. The PMI has remained positive for the last nine months.
Again, there has been a significant increase of orders, where the orders from abroad rose a bit more than the total number of orders. Companies extended their production volumes heavily, be it less than the past seven months. The amount of incomplete or non-executed work increased steadily. At the same time stock of readily products decreased somewhat.
More personnel was hired: the modest growth of employment was the largest in two years. Stock of bought products grew slightly. Purchase activities increased severely and delivery times for raw materials and semi-manufactured articles grew considerably.
Both purchasing and sales price inflation weakened somewhat, but remained massive.
