PURSPECTIVE OPENS THIRD OFFICE IN SAO PAULO, BRAZIL.
Increasing professionalism in procurement is a priority to support economic expansion phase of this BRIC country
After the opening of their office in Shanghai in 2004, Brazil will be the second international office from where Purspective will support their global customers with local delivery. Well before the recent discovery of natural resources Brazil has been an emerging country with an increasing manufacturing base. The addition of these vast natural resources will only further accelerate this process and make Brazil a strong player in the global marketplace. With Purspective’s ambitions to become the partner for companies in Supply (Chain) Management training in all regions around the globe, this is an important step.
After they started their Shanghai office, from where the APAC business is managed by regional director James Zhang, China turned out to be ‘hot’. The growth in the number of western companies in China, often related to the multinationals, has been enormous. Purspective has managed to support these companies in professionalizing their procurement and in the process established itself as a leading training and facilitation house.
The company already provides training programs for multinationals in Brazil, and a local presence puts Purspective in a much stronger position to shape its training course portfolio – with its proven learning methodology and didactic – to the needs of the region. The first programs organised will be open enrolment programs for Category Strategy Development in collaboration with CBEC (Dates and link for enrolment). After the successful introduction of these training programs, the further portfolio will be rolled out in 2009, also in collaboration with CBEC.
The new office in Sao Paulo is managed by Flavio Taioli, who has been active for multinationals for many years as well as has served as a professor in Logistics and Supply Chain at local universities and post-graduation programs. He combines a strong entrepreneurial drive, longstanding professional background with an excellent network.
“Local presence and a strong international manager from a Brazilian background was for us the first requirement for further investment in Brazil”, commented Wouter Crul, director of Purspective. “We recognize that for Purspective to become the global company we want to build, local delivery and customer intimacy are important. Therefore this Brazilian office is a natural step.
